I have several works of art entered in the 24th Annual Montrose Visual Artists Guild. The show will again be held at the beautiful Camelot Gardens. The show is free and open to the public. This year’s dates are Oct. 8-11, 2015.
Friday——Oct 9 …… 9:00-5:00
Saturday—Oct. 10 ….. 9:00-5:00
Sunday–—Oct. 11 … 10:00-3:00
Artists can show up to 3 works in a variety of media, and enter 1 artwork in this year’s special category, “Junque.” I will show 3 paintings: “Hot Shoe,”
For the special category, I am developing a found art sculpture of a herd of horses. I am looking for old locks to become individual horses. (More about this sculpture in a later post.)
For those patrons looking for gifts, the Guild will hold a special sale during the show. Each artist can enter a maximum of 8 pieces, priced under $100. I will show a few paintings and several monoprints. Monoprints are one-of-a kind prints created from a master drawing. They are painterly and produced by the hand of the artist, (unlike giclée prints, which are simply a photograph taken of a painting.)
A reception for artists, guests, award contributors, and patrons will be held Thurs., Oct. 8, from 6:00-8:00 PM. This year’s juror is Colorado and Arizona artist, Cynthia Underwood. She is a Master Signature Member of the Colorado Pastel Society and a Signature member of Plein Air Artists of Colorado. Cynthia will present a FREE demonstration on Friday morning, Oct. 10, 10:00 at Camelot Gardens demonstrating in her impressionistic paintings where she pushes color.
