“SKETCH JOURNALS…a sense of place”
“A SENSE OF PLACE” focuses on how to capture a place through understanding perspective. Broken down into simple ideas, each lesson progressively builds on the previous lesson. What seems daunting can be mastered with a simple understanding of perspective and proportion. We begin with simple elevation views, and go on to 1 and 2 point perspective drawings. In a fairly short time, you will be able to convey complex ideas with charming details. Learn to capture your travels and your neighborhood in fun sketches.

Forgo the brush and experiment with the process of pouring watercolor to produce looser paintings with unique results. Artist Cheri Isgreen will teach pigment rules and pouring techniques, as well as color theory, composition, and strategies for successful painting. Learn how pouring watercolors in a series of glazes allows depth of color to develop while preserving underlying layers and enhancing luminosity. Experience how this technique fosters a wide range of spontaneous colors while maintaining the harmony of a limited palette. All levels of painters are welcome, including first-time watercolorists.
